An interview with Elizabeth Oppong
We spoke with one of our recent TfL members Elizabeth Oppong about her journey on Roczen. Take a read below.
“I’ve reversed my prediabetes in 6 months and I feel like a different person - I’ve lost 12 kg, normalised my blood sugar level, and joined a gym!”

What motivated you to join Roczen?

Elizabeth Oppong

I went for my workplace medical check at the TfL and was told by the health technician that I should pay attention to my weight. I asked for help and she recommended the Roczen programme to me.

You’re sceptical to start, what changed?

I’ve been trying to manage my weight for the past 25 years, it’s never really worked. I thought this is just another weight loss programme that probably won’t work, but I’d give it a go.

What changed was when I first made my clinician, Tiago. He was so genuine, non-judgemental, and really interested in what I had to say. I felt I could trust him and as a result I was honest and wasn’t down-playing any issues I was facing.

I also did a HbA1c test at the start to check my blood sugar status. I was shocked to find out that I was living with prediabetes. The news really focused my mind on taking my health seriously.

It sounds like a turning point for you. What’s happened since?

Yes, I feel like a different person now. I’ve lost 26 lbs (12 kg) so far and I’ve never lost this much weight ever. I’ve lost 5 inches around my waist, I’m no longer prediabetic. Even my knee pain is gone and I’ve managed to join a gym!

Roczen also changed my mindset around health - I’m taking it more seriously now and I know I can take control of my health with small and consistent changes.

These are very impressive results! Do you think they’ll last?

Yes, I know I started with scepticism. It’s been 6 months now, and I’ve incorporated the good habits as part of my lifestyle. I don’t miss my snacks as much, and of course, I have treats every now and then, but that’s life!

The good thing about Roczen is that I know it is okay to enjoy life and still be healthy.
